International Centre For Theoretical Physics ICTP Postdoc Fellowship 2024

The High Energy, Cosmology, and Astroparticle Physics (HECAP) section at ICTP (International Centre for Theoretical Physics) will have multiple postdoctoral positions opening in October 2024. These appointments are for a duration of 2+1 years. Postdoctoral researchers specializing in cosmology and astroparticle physics will also actively contribute to the projects and collaborations of the Institute for the Fundamental Physics of the Universe (IFPU), a joint initiative involving ICTP, the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), the Trieste Observatory, and INFN.

HECAP’s research encompasses a wide range of topics, including:

  1. String Theory, covering areas such as Black Holes, Gauge/String Theory Duality, and Phenomenological String Theory/M-theory.
  2. Particle Phenomenology, involving Physics beyond the Standard Model, Dark Matter, Axions, Higgs and Collider physics, as well as Neutrino physics and astrophysics.
  3. Cosmology, with a focus on Large Scale Structures, Physics of the Early Universe, and the Present Acceleration.
  4. Topological Field Theories and Localization.

The HECAP section consists of 8 staff members, 5 emeritus scientists, 13 postdoctoral researchers, and several associated faculty members from other institutions. Collaboration is a cornerstone of HECAP’s work, and they maintain close partnerships with scientists from SISSA, the Departments of Theoretical Physics at the University of Trieste, the Trieste section of INFN, the Trieste Observatory, and the University of Udine.
