John F. Rowe Jr. was a firefighter, Army veteran, animal lover and Fordham University graduate who accomplished so much to serve his city and country before we lost him too soon. John’s educational journey was not a straight and easy path. Growing up in the New York City “projects,” John struggled through school as he worked jobs since he was 14 years old. The military changed his life, bringing new focus and order that ultimately helped him achieve his goal: To earn a college degree and join the New York Fire Department where he could continue serving the great city and country he loved.
