From July through September annually, the HZDR extends an invitation to international master’s and Diploma students specializing in natural sciences and related fields to engage with our research groups and actively partake in their endeavors.
Participation involves immersion within our research groups, where students are mentored by our experts. Under their guidance, students contribute to project plans tailored to their interests, receiving continuous supervision and coaching throughout the duration of the project. Additionally, a curated series of lectures and laboratory tours are offered to familiarize participants with the diverse facets of our research center.
This initiative aims to foster the advancement of scientific research on a global scale, emphasizing international collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches. We firmly believe in the potent synergy of integrated knowledge, fostering a platform for innovative scientific exploration and development.

Requirements for HZDR Summer Program for Students Worldwide
To be eligible for participation:
- Pursuing a Master’s or diploma in physical sciences, life sciences, or related natural sciences is required.
- Holding a Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- If enrolled in a diploma program, completion of the third year before the upcoming summer is necessary.
- Demonstrating a strong academic record is essential.
- Valid enrollment at a university is a prerequisite.
- Proficiency in the English language is a must.
- Commitment to be present from July 29, 2024, to August 30, 2024, is mandatory for applicants.
