Maureen’ was dedicated to her community, demonstrated through volunteering for various local causes such as assisting cancer patients with transportation and offering heartfelt support through her personal experiences, serves as an inspiring model for the recipients of this scholarship.

She held key roles as Head Nurse of the Emergency Room, Director of Nursing, and eventually rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Mount Vernon Hospital. Later, she assumed the role of Director of Clinical Services at Putnam Hospital Center, where she led the establishment of an Integrative Health Suite, pioneering alternative therapies for breast cancer patients.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify:

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Must have ambition, Drive, Passion
  • Write an essay of 400-600 words on the topic” on what inspired you to study nursing, what you hope to achieve, what impact you plan to make, and how you’ll carry on Maureen’s values and passion for the profession of Nursing.

Successful candidates for this program will be awarded the sum$2,000 for support and encouragement. Candidate will also be given the opportunity to propose how to solve health issues as a way of preventing future pandemics.
